Honestly, I'm not surprised that men's field hockey is not a big deal in the US. It looks terribly painful to play. The guys use short little sticks to push a little ball around on the ground, which means they look like hunchbacks shuffling across the field. They really need longer sticks. Sometimes tradition needs to give way to common sense, just sayin'.
Olaf found us tickets to field hockey, primarily so I could see the Olympic village. All of our other events were outside of the village, at various locations around London.
It was absolutely freezing this day. I had on pants, a long coat and a scarf. I was still freezing. Once it started raining, I looked at Olaf and asked if we could go home now. We were already really really tired from attending events, most of which were after a full day of work for Olaf. We left before the first half was over and still didn't get home before 10pm. But I am glad I got to see the Village.
Fabulous patriot, browsing the Olympic pins. |

Russian fans. Olaf and I had a fun time guessing what country people were supporting, before reading it on their clothing. |
Cool, cushy flooring covering a main thoroughfare in the Village. |
For Miss Katie Pelton- the BIG McDonald's. Big. |
I think these are German fans ;) |
Team G-B!!! Olaf and I heard this so many times we wanted to hurl. It was soooo irritating. |
